iPhone 5S won’t turn on

I was going to the zoo with my aunt and 1 hour before she came to my house she sent me my grandmas old iPhone 5S. Since I’m really interested in iPhones I decided to take a look. Yes I know you need to connect the phone to iTunes because the phone is completely dead but My MacBook Air is new and dosent support iTunes how do I fix the iPhone 5S
