Logitech USB keyboard & mouse work with intel Macbook but not with M1

I have a desktop dock setup with a Mokin USB-C dongle adapter that is connected to an HDMI display & a wired logitech keyboard (G513) & mouse (G502). It works fine with an intel-based macbook pro from 2019, all I have to do is plug the dongle into the laptop & everything works as expected.

With my M1 macbook air, when I connect the dongle (in lockdown mode) I would get a USB connection accept/deny message, would always accept, and the inputs would still not work. I turned off lockdown mode and tried again, got the same non-working result without a privacy window.

I'm pretty sure months ago when I tried fixing this I was able to get some use w/ leaving the dongle in & reconnecting the peripheral cables, but that's not working anymore.

I don't remember having to install any drivers or software on the intel mac to get this to work but I could be missing something like that. Anyone have an idea on where to start debugging this? Thanks

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 14.5

Thanks for your reply - I think the issue must be something with the Mokin adapter. I used Apple's single USB-C adapter to try the keyboard & mouse independently and everything worked as expected.

That may very well be possible. I'm afraid that I won't be able to verify this issue as I don't have one of these Mokin adapters available. I do; however, have a very similar Anker one that works perfectly with my wired Logitech keyboard/mouse. In my case, I have used it with both my M2 Pro Mac mini & 2020 Intel MacBook Pro.

It may also just be possible that this adapter is defective. I see that you can get it from places, like Amazon, for under $15. I guess you get what you pay for.
