You can get aftermarket internal SSDs for that MacBook Air.

Other World Computing – OWC Solid State Drives For MacBook Air 11" & 13" (Mid 2013 - Mid 2017)

You cannot get more RAM. The existing 8 GB of RAM is soldered in, and there are no RAM sockets.

You can upgrade macOS as far as Monterey, but no further. Monterey is still one of the "most recent three", and should be for about half a year. Note that Catalina and later (including Monterey) will not run 32-bit applications.

How to download and install macOS - Apple Support

If you are thinking about getting a bigger third-party internal SSD, be sure to install Monterey somewhere before replacing the Apple SSD. If a third-party SSD is installed when you first try to install Monterey, the update will fail. (Monterey may decide that your firmware needs updating, and it is the firmware update that will fail if it sees that your SSD is a third-party one.)
