CarPlay with iOS 17.5.1 not working

Since I updated to iOS version 17.5.1, CarPlay stopped working, I restarted, I reset the network connections, I hit forget phone in my car, I also deleted it from the phone, nothing works, I'm very disappointed that I updated it :(. Has anyone solved it?

SOLVED (for wireless connectivity)!

Step 1. Attempt to pair as usual and after a fail …

Step 2. Open iphone settings -> WiFi -> find car WiFi -> click into it -> press “Forget this network”

Step 3. iphone Settings -> Bluetooth -> check that car is not listed among devices. If listed delete it

Step 4. iphone Settings -> Search “car” -> open CarPlay -> see if car is listed and if yes then go in and delete it.

Step 5. Car steering wheel press “talking face” button until pairing dialogue appears on the car screen

Step 6. iphone Settings -> CarPlay -> tap on the discovered car and follow prompts on the phone and car screen.

i assume the issue was that phone had some residual memory of either WiFi network or Bluetooth settings and this needs to be wiped clean before pairing after the upgrade to iOS 17.5.1.

hope this works for you!

I found solution for SUZUKI S-Cross 2023/4.

Its looks like collision between Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

For first time try:

  1. Turn Off Bluetooth and Wi-Fi in Car.
  2. Turn Off Bluetooth in iPhone (i have 13).
  3. Press reconnect AppleCar, message tells you, Car turning On Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for connect, Confirm.
  4. Turn On Bluetooth in iPhone.
  5. Tadaaa.

For second time try, after next drive in Car and Apple Car disconnect again:

  1. Turn Off Bluetooth in Car.
  2. Press reconnect AppleCar, message tells you, Car turning Off Bluetooth for connect, Confirm.

PS: Yes my Car tells me "now I try turn *OFF* Bluetooth for connect". Weird, but works for me.

  1. Tadaaa.

Nothing other works for me after update to 17.5.1

I just sit in Car a try all methods for cca 15 minutes :-D

And I found, there is some in Bluetooth what blocking correct connection via Wi-Fi.

AppleCar work only via Wi-Fi.

But it looks need some first init via Bluetooth ?

Got this from Reddit. It works!!! Fixed my 2024 CRV.

”I called apple support and they were very helpful. I had to have my car forget the device and and the phone forget the car, then turn the car and the device off. Waited about 10-15 seconds or so. Then started the car and turned on the phone. And went though the pairing process. But here is the odd thing after they were paired I needed to again turn off the car and power down my 14 pro max. Wait the 15 seconds again and turned everything back on, and now it works with no issues”

I had the same issue, but I was able to fix it by switching my car profile from owner to guest, which allowed me to enable CarPlay again and once I went back to the owner profile it allowed me to enable CarPlay once again. I have a 2024 Honday hybrid sport. I hope this helps. Other cars may have a different configuration.
