Max brightness of Thunderbolt display dim

With the Brightness slider all to way to the right, the max brightness of my Thunderbolt display is dim -- maybe half as bright as the max brightness of the screen of my 2017 MacBook Pro. Does it need a new"bulb" or what....

Brightness of external display changes on its own even though "automatically adjust brightness" is off I have a Macbook pro running Ventura and an LG UltraFine external display. I routinely calibrate the LG display using Colorite. Before calibration I check the display brightness and it is always set to the max. I need to manually adjust it back to the correct setting before doing the calibration. Next time I do to calibrate.. samething! Sometime since the last calibration the brightness has been set to maximum, which means at some point calibration became meaning less. "Automatically Adjust Brightness"is off, yet this is still happening. How can I prevent the brightness from changing on it's own?

Virtual Display brightness changes dynamically I've been using the Mac Virtual Display feature for hours and hours and I noticed that the brightness of the virtual screen changes slightly. If I look at a bright white page (a blank webpage for example) in the middle of my virtual monitor, and I look at it dead on centered with my AVP, brightness lowers a tad. If I move my head a bit up, so the white page is now at the bottom edge of my AVP, the whole virtual monitor gets much brighter. I would love to turn this automatic feature off and control this myself. Is there a setting for this somewhere?

Brightness Fluctuation I have a 15" MacBook Pro, 2016 running the latest version of Monterey. The brightness of my screen STILL changes with the ambient light even though I do NOT have the Auto Adjust Brightness turned on in preferences. Any suggestions?

If the display is fading it would not be cost effective to repair. Cheaper to but used TB display from eBay then trying to fix the bad one.

It can be that the backlight is getting sloppy in your Thunderbolt Display
