Resizing photos on iPhone to print so they won’t take up the whole page
I’ve noticed a few people speaking on this topic. There isn’t an option for scaling in the photos app from the iPhone print preview. But there is one from Safari browser when you press print. I usually do this for Amazon returns because the label is too big. I scale it to 25% before I print it. Sometimes the label is so big they have it on 3 pages! After adjusting the size in the print preview, the label always ends up being only on 1 page. I save a lot of ink this way. There’s never a problem scanning the reduced size barcode the post office either. I’m not sure why things are printed so big in the first place.
It seems however, Apple felt the option do to this from the print preview in the photos app wasn’t a good idea. So if you print a picture from Safari you could adjust it.
BUT… what if you don’t have a picture in safari!? What if you take a screen shot of your reminders app and want to print it out without it taking 2 (or more) pages with the oversized words? What happens when you print ANY picture from the photos app? It takes up the whole page! Kills your ink.
The way to fix this is easy though.
open up Pages app. Insert your photo and press on one of the blue dots that appear around the pasted/inserted photo, and simply resize the picture to your custom liking.
Then all you need to do is press print from the Pages app and job complete.
TLDR: want print a photo smaller than a whole page? Open Pages app, insert a photo from menu. Resize then print.
