Set MacOS Finder Sort as default for all folders

I want to sort by Kind and then by alphabetically. I set this up in View Options and then select Set As Default but it never sticks from folder to folder. How can I set my sort option for all folders on my Mac?

It will only be default for folders you have not set any view options on.

Try opening folders you have never opened and sorted or done anything to the view options and see if it is sorted as you set as default.

If so, you'll have to change all of the folders you have already set up.

Finder>View>Show View Options

I believe this has been a long standing issue...
