SD Card Reader Not Working
2020 MBP - I have tried two different card readers and neither one will be recognized by my Mac

try a differnt port?
a differnt cable?
a different SDcard?
Verify Finder Settings to show external on Desktop & in Sidebar...?
(?) On the M series mac (SoC) the SMC reset equivalent is: Shut down, close the lid 30 secs+ , reboot as normal
no resolve—Try a SafeBoot Use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support
(?) on an Intel mac:
try resetting NVRAM/PRAM Reset NVRAM on your Mac - Apple Support
(hold to get at least three continuous rounds of the chimes when resting the NVRAM, no harm there)
if no resolve try resetting the System Management Controller Reset the SMC of your Mac - Apple Support
