reporting scam

I got scammed on Apple Cash. I reported it to Apple Cash who said they could not help me. They said if I reported it to my bank, I could not use Apple Pay anymore. Have you found this to be the case?

Apple Cash is a debit card, and like most debit cards it's pretty much impossible to recover loss. Reportng to your bank does nothing because your bank is no longer involved. You transferred money from your bank account into Apple Cash and then used Apple Cash to send money to someone you now know was scamming you. Reporting the scam to GreenDot Bank will likely mean your Apple Cash card will be canceled. Happens all too often these days no matter what card is being used. Sorry for your financial loss.

When sending money with Apple Cash, Apple says to only send money to people you know. The reason for this is that sending with Apple Cash is a private person to person transaction just like any other cash transaction. If you send to the wrong person, your recourse is to ask for that money back, just like you gave someone $20 on the street. This is detailed here:

Apple Cash person-to-person payments are like any other private transaction between two people, so only send and receive money with people you know.

When you dispute a charge with your bank, the normal and expected action is to cancel the card used to prevent any other fraudulent transactions. In this case it would be your Apple Cash card and you may not be able to get another one. You can fund your Apple Cash card with your bank, but the transaction to another person is done using the bank for the Cash card, which is GreenDot bank.
