I have an iPhone 14+. Recently I received a pop up notification saying “there was a virus on my phone and my battery had been infected and damaged.” There was a link for me to download and install but I did neither; however, now it has me worried.

Nothing to worry about. If this was from a website, it is a scam ad attempting to scare you into purchasing some software or providing a number for you to call where they want your personal information. If it was from a Message/Email, the same intentions are true.
Any messages that you see like this are scams that are trying to trick you into buying software that will do nothing useful for your phone......but it will help to line the pockets of the low lives trying to sell this junk.
Even worse.....the messages might be trying to trick you into revealing your personal information so the bad guys can get into your phone.
Ignore and delete any messages that you see like this. There will be more to come.
All such messages are scams presented by criminals. If it is a web page, close the offending page and avoid sites that are involved in such bogus advertising.
Those messages are all scams. Dismiss and ignore them.
