How can I backup my iPhone photos to my iMac?

i have an iphone that gets backed up to the cloud every night. i also have an iMac. i need to know how to back up the photos on my phone to my iMac, so that i can delete them from my phone.

Your all pictures are synced to iCloud that’s no backed up if you want all your pictures in your Mac you have to download them from iCloud.com/ photos to your Mac but all photos will be saved in the download folder
