Hi,

The Brother MFC-L8900CDW is a model supporting Apple's AirPrint technology.

About AirPrint - Apple Support

It should be possible to use this printer with AirPrint, without an extra app, provided that the printer and the iPhone are connected to the same network (Wi-Fi router).

Use AirPrint to print from your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

AirPrint works with a wireless (Wi-Fi) or wired (Ethernet) printer conection, so you could choose to connect the MFC-L8900CDW by Ethernet cable to one of the LAN ports of the router instead of Wi-Fi, if you so wish.

A macOS computer connected to that network may also be used without additional drivers.

If necessary, try a power-cycle sequence:

Power off the Wi-Fi router, the printer, the iPhone, and all other computers and devices. Wait two to three minutes. Power on the router. Wait two to three minutes. Power on the printer. Wait a minute or two. Power on the iPhone. Finally, power on all other computers and devices.

A Windows PC does not use the AirPrint technology, and would need drivers.
