2-finger scrolling has stopped working

I have a fairly old Mac & use a trackpad. All functions work but two finger scrolling has become unresponsive.

i’ve tried restarting and following system preferences/accessibility route but with no luck so far.

this happened once before & I found a solution that I cannot now find. Any thoughts?

Two finger zoom on trackpad not working. Running a 13-inch, 2019 MacBook Pro, mac OS Ventura. My two-finger zoom (pinch) in and out stops working continually. The only fix seems to be to reset the trackpad gestures (System Settings>trackpad>scroll & zoom>turn off and then back on "Zoom in or out") and I am having to do this regularly throughout the day. As you can imagine, this is not ideal. It seems to be worse working in Adobe CC (up-to-date) programs. I have found a handful of others having similar issues. Is there a fix, or developers working on this?

The Trackpad on my MacBook Air M1 2020 is unable to recognize zoom gesture. I don't know why but my MBA has lately been giving issues with the trackpad since the past week. My Mac is in an almost perfect condition (just a minor dent on the right edge of the palm rest but that too was from 2 years ago). I don't have any other issues its just the Trackpad being faulty at times. Can someone tell me what exactly is wrong with my Mac?

What mac model? What OS?

I think that two-finger scrolling has been on, without any possibility to be disabled, for many years now; but in the old days it could be turned off. So... what OS is this?
