No internet on cellular connection after 17.5.1 update

Hi, I have an Iphone 11 and last week I updated it to 17.5.1 version. On the same day, I noticed problems with the internet connection when using data. I have a connection with a 4G near the bars but no internet. Such issues did not happen before the update. I have tried all solutions that I could find online and none worked. The internet on wifi works as previously. This issue is very concerning because I am quite dependent on cellular connection data for commuting. I will be way less inclined to do ios updates from now on, because this nearly ruins the purpose of my phone.


Can anybody facing this issue help me out? Is there a possibility that this is fixed in a new patch or is my phone done for? Thanks.

I have the exact same issue since the ios 17.5.1 update on Iphone 11. Tried everything to see if its a provider sided problem but it has to be the 17.5.1 updates on iphone 11.

Same problem… can’t access internet on cell service. They need to fire their lead programmer. First they try to destroy the iWatch with the last update that drained the battery so quickly the watch was overheating and now this. These may well be my last Apple products… definitely not the workmanship they have been know. For in the past.

Thanks for sharing the same issue. I tried asking people around threads about this issue and I am being told that I either messed up my phone or the carrier is at fault as if apple cannot mess up with their updates. I reset all my settings yesterday but same issue. I will let you know if I fix it

I’m having the exact same issue for two days now and Apple support. Tried everything over the phone with me. Freedom. Replaced my Sim card. Try another Sim card. Nothing will work in my phone since the update as far as connecting to the cellular network it was fine right up until 3:45 PM on Thursday. Taking it into Apple Store today for appointment I will let you know what they say. If there is something that can be done. I only hope they give me a replacement for free since it was the update that caused the issue.

No, most people are not "suffering from the update." Despite what people seem to think, updates rarely cause problems for huge numbers of people.


The original poster's issue sounds like one with their cellular provider. Replacing the phone wouldn't fix that.

I've been toggling Airplane mode which fixes the issue temporarily (can be 5 minutes or a few hours). I also created shortcut with a button on the home screen to cycle Airplane mode (enable Airplane mode -> wait 1 second -> disable Airplane mode). It's very easy to do.
