Resetting the SMC with a dead battery

I have an M1 Airbook. I realized a day ago that neither of the laptop USB-C ports were charging. Unfortunately by the time I realized this, the laptop battery was so low it wouldn't start up again after a restart. I'm assuming that a simple SMC reset is all that is needed, but now I cannot restart the computer because of the dead battery and I cannot charge the battery because of the SMC.

How do I get out of this catch 22? Is there a way to reset the SMC from the mother board? Is there a way to charge the batteries directly from the motherboard without using the USB-C? Any other solution I should try!? Thanks!

For the Apple silicon macs, there is no need in resetting the SMC. Simply rebooting the mac will reset the SMC for you.

If you cannot restart the computer there is no way to force the SMC to restart, so please Contact - Official Apple Support to set up hardware service for your device

Nope! A MacBook Air using Apple silicon such as yours does not have an SMC accessible to a user.
