How can I change the default file format from PNG to PDF when using Print Screen on Mac?

When making Print screen (Shift -commend + 4 ) the result default file is PNG

Is there a way to always save as PDF instead of PNG ?

Thanks.

Using the keyboard combo >> Shift + Command + 4 << will limit the Options available to possible Not take a Default .png Screen Shot

Has the user explored " Options " from using >> Shift + Command + 5 <<

If you were to change the Default Options to say " Clipboard " or " Preview "

You could Paste from Clipboard to Preview and save the Screen Shot to the desired .PDF format ?

Or better still change to Preview directly and choose the PDF format ?

Take screenshots or screen recordings on Mac
