Iphone 14, mobile data issue, stuck on verifying update 17.5.1

My friends phone suddenly had sim/mobile data issue, an update was needed so we tried updating but while the update can be downloaded it cannot be installed. The screen gets stuck on verifying update. The reboot works but even after rebooting the update still gets stuck on verifying update. We took out sim, deleted the update 2 time and tried downloading again, tried to update from mac but get error message 4000 and (-18). Tried different cables, different wifi, different ports. We even reset all settings. Tried almost every advice given but it is still stuck in verifying update when pressed install update. We can only go to repair on Saturday as it's quite far away to pop in and out. Till then is there any other way to fix this issue of movile data and update?
