Sould I upgrade my 4 year old Mac from Ventura to Sonoma?

My MacBook Pro 13" 2020 is running OS Ventura 13.6.7 . It works just fine. Should I upgrade to Sonoma? I am afraid that OS will bog down my 8GB computer with all kinds of interactive features I don't use.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 11.7

I agree with MartinR: until there's a strong reason to upgrade I would stay with Ventura. It will be supported security-wise for the next 4-5 years.

When you do upgrade make sure you have no "cleaning", "optimizing", "speed-up", anti-virus or VPN apps on your Mac, They are not needed and cause problem with systems and apps.

If you have any currently I recommend you uninstall them according to the developers' instructions.
