how do I copy my playlists from my old Nano (2nd gen) to iTunes (high sierra)

All the songs on the nano are in my iTunes library but I cannot drag and drop or import the playlists that I created for the Nano years ago. Some of the playlists are hundreds of songs long and I want to avoid creating a empty playlist on the computer and looking up each song on the Nano playlist, going to my library, looking up that song and dragging each one to the newly created playlist. Isn't there a way to just copy the playlist or order of songs to the computer? The playlists show up in iTunes under the Nano but will not copy to the iTunes playlists or the iPhone or the iPad.
