Recovering Deleted Messages From Apple Watch

I deleted the iMessages from my iPhone and then went to the "Recently Deleted" section of messages to permanently delete those messages from my iPhone. I then deleted that iMessage conversation from my Apple Watch as well. Now I've realized I would like to get those messages back.

Is there an equivalent way on the Apple Watch to recover "Recently Deleted" iMessages like how the iPhone allows you to retrieve "Recently Deleted" messages? I'm asking because I don't have the messages backed up on iCloud.

Would the option only be available on certain Apple Watch models?

Or are my messages permanently gone on both the Apple Watch and the iPhone :(
