Judging from your above statement.

Do we have this correct that an older version of Carbon Copy Cloner is presently installed ?

If Yes, what version as in version 6 or an older version 7 ?

I did have an older CCC Version 7 installed

When I launched that version, it Auto Alerted there was an Update

It took me to their site to download the update

Upon successfully downloading - it out Unzipped the file

As a Test I have downloaded to CCC Zip file to the Downloads folder

It Auto Unzipped the file

All I would have to do would to Drag the Carbon Copy Cloner Application from the Downloads folder to Applications folder

The Operating System, should ask if you what to replace the existing application OR keep both the Old and the Newer Version

Running Sonoma 14.5

hi thanks for replying , I received an email this morning that ccc had updated to version 7 today . I have already carbon clone 6 installed . I downloaded the zip file and went to open it , in the right hand side of the dock the green archiver pops up then dissaperars and not folder opens in the downloads area . so I tried a previous zip file of a piece of music and same happens it won't unzip . so I am wondering if zip archiver is corrupt as I only updated to so mama 14.5 yesterday

Hi the issue I have is any zip file I download the in built archiver app cannot open it . The actual archive app won’t even open . So has or is it possible the Os is screwed I have also noticed anything program I download won’t open as it says I don’t have permission to do so . I have encountered all this since updating to Sonama yesterday . So wondering has the update corrupted the Os .

I have been into recovery and reinstalled sonama and no difference so maybe it’s permissions but don’t know how to repair these .

do you reckon I may have to delete my mac and start from scratch . I have a Time Machine which is only since the upgrade to Sonama .

More than 1 application acting up after a reinstall

There is a third party application called Etrecheck

Etrecheck

To avoid the question / answer and question answer scenario

Download the Application Etrecheck ( External Link ) directly from the Developer.

The Application is Not a " Silver Bullet " but only a tool to examine the Hardware / Software used on this computer

This is a Diagnostic Tool that makes no changes to the computer.

It makes a coherent and readable inventory of both the Hardware and Software used on the computer

The application is free or paid for added features.

The Report will Not Reveal Any Personal Information.
