cannot close multiple zoom app update downloads; no error messages

i was trying to join a meeting within my nbrowser but the app opened and said an update was required so i think i started the update but it froze. was in a hurry of course so apparently tried several more times. now i have multiple frozen updates that i cannot close even when i go to force quit. in fact it finder force quit doesnt even reflect these frozen updates. i can open the app and force quit it but not the updates. iam not a Mac personso i dont know how to manuever through the apple utilities or even system settings or the stupid names for the different apps and utilities. i used to when i had my leopard OS on my 2009 iMac. now its all more complicated in the name of "productivity" having a bunch of stuff i dont need and dont want. Windows is the same. both OS add more and more crap wirthout any options for the user to keep it clean and simple. i dont have the time to take training, classes, or read every forum or watch tutorials that dont even cover the functions i need to know. i just want to do a few simple things. im retired and dont need productivity. i want to browse the web, create documents including desktop publishing for print (cant seem to do like you used to), do email, and communicate on just a few platforms. no gaming, no sharing of content for a job, no blogging just simple stuff. so clearly i am out of my element. macbook air Ventura 13.2.1 M1 chip. Help

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 13.2

Use the Activity Monitor application and make sure to use View >> View All Processes

What process or processes are using the Most CPU  and Memory.

Once you find the Offend Process ( Installer or Updater )

Use Circle with X inside >> Stop

Hopefully this will End the Process(s) related to the Update or Installation

Thank you. fixed. will update. Question though. What advantage would updating to Sonoma OS have? My experience with OS updates has not been good. I used my iMac with leopard for nearly 9 yrs before it wouldnt support the browsers. Never had a problem the whole time and there wasnt a bunch of junk I didnt use like there is with updates these days. Thank you again for your help. I am very appreciative.

Upgrading from Ventura to Sonoma, advantages ?

There is one advantage that springs to mind

Ventura was released Oct 24, 2022

Sonoma was released Sept 26, 2023

If Apple were to continue their past history of offering updates for the 3 most recent versions of macOS for a period 3 years.

Ventura will continue to receive Security Updates until about 2025

Sonoma, Security updates until about 2026

Feature wise, see very little difference between Ventura and Sonoma
