I have an Apple AirTag on my dog’s collar and it’s been on him over 6 months but in the last 2 weeks, it has started beeping twice and he’s literally sitting in my lap. Also the sound is turned off in Find my phone. Is the battery low perhaps?

Sorry, but no. The AIrTags do not use rechargeable "coin" batteries. You will need to replace it. Be sure that the replacement battery you get does NOT have a bitterant coating as these do not work well in the tags.
