Can I force my macbook pro 2021 to use power adapter instead of battery. It has an 'X' on the battery symbol.

Apple had to replace the entire logic board, the CPU, the hard disk and much more. The repair cost me 800 euros in Germany. I bought the device in Australia, and had I not been overseas at the time, Apple would have covered the cost of the repair due to Australian consumer protection law, as it was not determined to be my fault. NO water damage etc. In Germany the consumer law is only 2 years, in Australia it is longer.... when I called Apple they said there was no specific limit. And my Macbook Pro is just over two years old. Very disappointing. Especially as 800 euros cuts deep at the moment. Exchange rates as well don't help.

Thanks. I clearly need to get the apple genius bar to look at this. I turned off "optimised battery charging" I'm using the supplied charger Magsafe, no apps open and still no charge. I've had it plugged in overnight.
