Which of MacBook Air or Pro can sufficiently run programs for 2D and 3D animation studio work

Hello! I am looking to purchase a M3 MacBook Air or Pro (portability) and am seeking insight into which model I should get, which can sufficiently run the aforementioned programs for 2D and 3D animation studio work. Thank you!

Which ever one you decide on, with those apps, load the machine up with as much RAM as you can afford!

While the M3 MacBook Air is a very capable machine, if you get a MacBook Pro, be sure to get the one with the M3 Pro chip. The base model MacBook Pro in reality is a MacBook Air with a fan and a slightly bigger display.

And as stated, with those apps, RAM should be your priority as much as your pocket book will allow because you cannot change it later but with storage you can always buy external drives.

Either can do the job though the Pro will do it faster. 3D & animation apps love RAM so be sure to get as much much as you can afford. I agree totally with Woodmeister50’s priority of RAM over storage. Fifteen years ago it was harder to deal with a small drive because large capacity external drives were large and/or expensive but today’s portable SSDs are affordable and amazingly small. They are also low energy consumers.

That would depend in large part to which specific programs you wish to run. Different programs will have different computer/system requirements. Decide which programs/apps you want to run then look at the sites of these programs/apps to see what hardware/Operating System version they require.
