Macally Bluetooth Mouse (BTDYNAMOUSE) won't pair with multiple Mac's Sonoma 14.5. Pairs with PC.

My little bluetooth macally mouse which is a total trooper, had it for years, works w my PC laptop like a breeze, haven't even changed the battery in years (though I did today while frustratingly trying to pair with multiple Macs in my household).

Been to Macally's website, all their solutions rely on a code box appearing, but the mac pairing process doesn't even get to the codebox, except maybe fleetingly but literally for a nanosecond before the codebox disappears before it can be interacted with.

Mouse still pairs to my PC's and works like a charm so am blaming Mac / OSX. Would love them to get their chit together.

model number: BTDYNAMOUSE brand MACALLY

OSX will see the mouse, sometimes displaying it's full name (Macally Bluetooth Mouse), sometimes just saying 'Mouse' but clicking connect just spins the dial for a few seconds and then the connect button becomes available again... and again and again....

I buy Mac because things 'just work', this is not that experience.

UPDATE: after contacting Macally (Manufacturer) they confirmed the issue began after a recent Sonoma update. They DO have an updated version of that mouse if you're in the market (as I said I bought this one many years ago and have an older version).

So mystery solved.

I have a similar issue with older Microsoft bluetooth mice. I have had several for years, and they operate perfectly with the M1, MacBook Pro.

I recently got a new one to potentially replace one of them that occasionally seems to have issues. With 14.5, it will not fully complete the pairing process. It never gives me the "enter code 0000, or pair" button.

I recently got a new m2 MacBook Pro for work, with Ventura 13.4 installed. And the same problematic mouse pairs just fine. It also pairs perfectly with windows, even an iPad Pro running 17.x.

It is definitely an issue with Sonoma 14.5..... It's not the product....

This very similar to the AirPrint issue from devices running 17.x to some "certified" older AirPrint printers.
