Music unexpectedly quits on iMac

My Music app on iMac won't open. I get the spinning ball and then seconds later I get the unexpectedly quit window. Does anyone know a fix to this problem?

iMac 27″, macOS 14.5

There's a lot we do not know about the situation, so may need to find the cause, in order to find the right fix.

Wondering if any of the suggestions below can help:

✽ Check your Mac has adequate free storage space (NB: space in iCloud doesn't count):

Eg: A Mac generally needs about 50 Gb free in which to operate smoothly and do everything you ask it to.

Eg: How to: See used and available storage space on your Mac - Apple Support

If you need to make more space so your Mac can work well, please remember to back-up your data first.

✽ If storage space is no problem:

Try restarting your Mac: (deletes temporary files, re-establishes connections, may update recent setting changes you made, and often restores order if something is not working as expected):

Eg Apple Menu > Restart. then log back-in Check whether or not you can now open and use Music ok.

✽ If re-starting has not helped:

Check your Mac for third-party (non-Apple) apps: Eg: Turn off unnecessary virus-checkers, cleaners, ad-blockers and the like, (or use the uninstallers available from their developers). Turn off VPN if installed. Check that any necessary third-party apps are updated to their newest version.

Check again whether the Music app is opening normally or not.
