If I search for something in the systems preferences dialogue A drop-down list of possible matches appears which covers up the two right-hand rows of icons.
This is kind of annoying, and completely unnecessary. I'd imagine there is a resource file somewhere, which I could edit to move the search window 50 or so pixels to the right ?

The Operating System resides in a Sealed and Read Only Volume that cannot be opened by the User nor by Third Party Applications.
To do what one wants to do would not be possible
Then have a few suggestions ;
Start now and open an Apple Support Ticket as they are PAID Apple Employees to deal will these types of issues .

Not that I have found in Ventura nor Sonoma
Starting in Ventura and above System Preferences changed both in name and in look plus functionality

What if you select the one you really want, or add more text to narrow the options?
