Troubleshooting a Locked iPhone:

Seems you have a locked iPhone. So, contact Apple Support. Refer to the following...

Hold It Right There!:

Enter the passcode incorrectly too many times, and you'd likely be locked out for good. So, hold it right there, and refer to this link: If you Forgot the Passcode on your iPad, or your iPad is Disabled - Apple Support. It would be the one you've always entered. If you do not know it, then look for it in a location you may have stored it in.

Being Locked Out...

Have any Proof of Purchase?

Unless you have the original packaging and receipt, you may be out of luck. If you do have it, however, then take this to an Apple Store, or an AASP (Apple Authorized Service Provider)! and they may be able to restore it. The reason for this blockage is all about Security & Privacy.

Apple Contact Info:

  • Contact Us - Choose Locations
  • Proceed from there, as necessary
  • Why the Wait: Phone calls are taking a bit to go through at the moment, due to lots of calls. With the Coronavirus Pandemic, many are at home at the moment, with much time on their hands to contact Apple. So, just stay on the line, and you will get through :)

If you're locked out of your iPhone XR because you've forgotten your password, don't worry, there are steps you can take to regain access.

  1. Use iCloud: If you have Find My iPhone enabled and remember your Apple ID and password, you can remotely erase your device and set it up as new. Go to iCloud.com, sign in with your Apple ID, and select Find iPhone. From there, you can erase your device remotely.
  2. Use iTunes: If you've synced your iPhone with iTunes before and it's not set to erase data after a certain number of failed attempts, you can connect your device to the computer you've synced with and restore it from a backup.
  3. Recovery Mode: If you've never synced with iTunes or set up Find My iPhone, you'll need to put your device into recovery mode and restore it. To do this, connect your iPhone to your computer and open iTunes. Then, force restart your device by following the instructions for your specific model. When you see the option to restore or update, choose Restore. This will erase your device and install the latest iOS version.
  4. Contact Apple Support: If none of the above methods work, you can contact Apple Support for further assistance. They may be able to help you unlock your device.

Remember to always keep your passwords in a secure place or use password managers to avoid this situation in the future.
