Why does keyboard backlight not automatically turn off in bright environment?
M3 MacBook Pro with macOS 14.5 Sonoma
Keyboard backlighting is essential when regularly using a MacBook in dark environments. If you don't see the keys it is otherwise really hard to be productive.
In the current keyboard design Apple killed the brightness keyboard control keys. idownloadblog has a tutorial how to change this back, when you search for it (link removed by mod).
However, what I don't get, control existing or not, on this M3 mac, the keyboard backlighting never turns off - even in bright environments. This makes no sense, since it burns battery without adding value.
Am I using the correct settings?
What am I missing? Do I really have to go through control center every single time I need to use keyboard backlighting and then again to disable it? This can't be expected behavior 😵💫
