search within a column

hello.

i would like to know if there is a simple way to search a word within a selected column, or selected group of cells?

when i search, it search within the spreadsheets of the entire files...

Numbers: Search spreadsheet by any word or partial string I've created a searchable Numbers spreadsheet. Mostly, it uses a Find formula that returns TRUE (1) along with the use of Filters. In a search cell in one table, I can type the first word in a search (or just the first 1 or more letters of the first word) to automatically filter that word in a column list, in another table. Sometimes there are two words that I am searching for, but I can only remember the second word. If I search for the 2nd word, I get no results (e.g., "interest" vs "interest promotional"). What combination of formula and Filter can I use that will allow me to filter by either the first or the second word? Ideally, I would like to be able to search for any string of letters in the target, including spaces between words (e.g., "interest promotional", "interest", "promotional", "teres", "rest promot", "motional"). Edit>Find Search I'd like to search for certain words in my own work, i.e., search for a word and then have it highlighted at each occurrence. Is there an app for this?

Searchable cell - highlight results as you type your search I wonder if it is possible but could I create a cell, that when I type value or text the results are highlighted ? For instance: I have a file with moreover 500 products with each their own product number. Attached is an example. Some of the digits are the same with different letters which make the product numbers unique. Now my intention would be to create a cell. And when I type in that cell, result in product numbers are highlighted and the more you type in to that cell, the more the search gets narrowed down. Below a simulation what I would like to achieve. It is not actual working !!! The highlighting (red letters) is done manually. First example: I search for the combination "12" and I get 3 results. Second example: I search for the combination "45" and I get 5 hits. Third example: by keeping to type more into the search cell "NY145" I narrow my search down to 1 result. I hope the three examples speak for them selves and that someone can tell me: a) if it is possible b) how to create it / what formula Thanks a lot

In Mac Numbers, you couldn't search within a specific column or a selected group of cells directly. Maybe you can click and drag to select the column or the specific range of cells, and then use conditional highlighting instead of searching?
