I would like to know if deleting videos or photos in 'photos' would also Delete them in my iMovie library if they have been added there? thanks for help.

When you import video clips and photos into iMovie a copy of them is made in the Original Media folder in the Library.
So it should be OK.
You can check by importing an unimportant photo from Photos and then deleting it . . . it will still be in iMovie.
Alternatively you can select the photo in the Browser and go to File/Reveal in Finder. It should appear in the Original Media folder.

I did try deleting a photo and a movie dragged into 'imovie' from 'photos'. both remained in'Photos' , they were not deleted. thanks again for your help!
deleting videos in 'photos' would they also be deleted in 'imovie' if they have previously been added there?
