Monitor loses resolution after going to sleep

After going to sleep, if I wake my M2 Macbook Pro (Pro, lol) too soon the monitor attached through a hub loses it's resolution and won't go back to the correct resolution without unplugging and plugging in the monitor or rebooting the laptop. If the system fully falls asleep (a couple hours later) I can re-login without any issue and the monitor comes back up at 3440x1440.

I have seen MANY posts complaining about the same thing. The solution should not involve me reaching behind all of my stuff to unplug and then plug in my monitor OR having to reboot my machine. This isn't anything covered by all the tips shown in this help article. If your external display is dark or low resolution - Apple Support. Apple, this is an actual problem with your OS. Please fix!
