Overseas roaming - 4G/5G working fine. Can receive all call (both international and domestic. But cannot make any overseas calls when I’m in my home country, and cannot make any outgoing calls while overseas.
my supplier O2 (uk) say there’s nothing on my account stopping me from making international calls. I have visited an o2 shop on the call centre’s recommendation. They say there’s nothing on my account stopping me from making international calls. I asked if there’s something in my iPhone 15 (on an eSIM) that’s stopping it, but I was told there are no settings on the phone that would prevent outgoing international calls.
had this same international call problem with my iPhone 12 on a regular sim.
i have tried raising a complaint with o2, but still some months on I’ve heard nothing.
i don’t want to give up and cancel existing contract, as its old contract and I don’t have to pay a daily charge whilst in Europe.
Whilst overseas. 4/5G works fine, I can receive incoming calls from both the country I’m in and calls from home (uk) I just can’t make any outgoing network calls.
Whilst in the uk ( home country) I can’t make outgoing international network calls.
Fyi, when overseas and I try to make an outgoing network call, I always get the same automated message from the local network provider saying ‘I am not authorized to use this network, please call my network provider.
can any of you advise if it is the phone, perhaps a setting. or whether I am correct that it’s a network problem and I need to keep battling with O2?
thank you in advance.
iPhone 15, iOS 17
