How to use my husbands iPhone to share my book purchases in iBooks

I need help getting my husbands phone to share my book purchases in iBooks. Just on our phones, I checked the cards and dates and all that jazz, it still keeps saying your family must have a valid payment method. Do I try turning our phones off and and on again? ☹️
