iTunes on Mac / rename playlist snafu

Anyone understand why the asinine changes to iTunes (or whatever you're meant to call the laptop app named "Music" to distinguish it from the subscription) regarding renaming playlists? Namely:

  1. Every important application I use on the Mac allows me to slow click twice on a file name to edit; except iTunes, which now requires a right click, a selection, another click to edit, and a fourth click to complete the process, doubling the steps -- and at least doubling the time and effort -- formerly required.
  2. Every app I use also allows me to hit enter to choose the highlighted button, in this case of editing a playlist name, "Done" is highlighted; except iTunes, which allows me to use enter but, incredibly annoyingly, also impotently makes an error sound.

I use iTunes a LOT, including regularly renaming playlists, so small changes that make things unnecessarily harder add up to very significant wastes of time. Any tips on how to circumvent this aggravation would be welcome.
