Voicemails lost after update

As advised, I tried calling myself from my phone, then giving my voicemail password, & also pressing 1 on the number pad on the phone app, then giving the password, but both times, my phone told me I had no messages.

Does anyone know if there’s a chance they’re not totally lost? I am a 100% non-tech person. How does one “log onto your server’s ——…..”??

For voicemail contact your phone carrier that is their feature.
