I would not expect to get a refund. You agreed to be charged for the subscription after the free trial and that is exactly what happened. I have never seen where forgetting to cancel a subscription or not using a subscription were valid reasons for a refund. You have done the right thing by cancelling the subscription to prevent any further charges.

No, no refund. You canceled the subscription and will not be re-billed but the subscription will continue until it expires. No pro-rated refunds. If this was a subscription to a third party product you might appeal to the developer but that’s it. No refund possible.

When you sign up for a free trial, you agreed to pay for the subscription if it was not cancelled. I would not expect to get a refund because you forgot to cancel it. In the future when you sign up for a free trial, set a Reminder on your device so you do not forget to cancel it, or don't use Free Trials at all. It really does not matter if you used it or not, all that matters is that you signed up for it.
