Epson Communication Error with Sonoma

I recently migrated to a new MacBook Pro (M3 Pro) and I can't seem to get my Epson printer to communicate. I have updated the driver and uninstalled and reinstalled the printer several times. It will install the printer but it sits idle giving me a communication error each time I try and print. It was functioning perfectly well a week ago with Ventura. Anyone have some suggestions to try? I would really appreciate it.

MacBook Pro 14″, macOS 14.5

If it is listed as AirPrint printer, delete the existing printer, and add it again, select AirPrint.

Thank you leroydouglas and MartinR.

It was an old, simple Epson printer I use for documents connecting with a USB-A, and after trying with Epson, I decided to just purchase a new AirPrint model and it's working fine now. I was concerned that another printer, the Epson Stylus Pro 3880 would give me a similar problem, however after updating the driver, it works fine. I do use ImagePrint for Fine Art Prints and I was getting a 609 error. ImagePrint also needed an update and the xinetd file turned on in Full Disk Access (Privacy and Security). Everything is working now. Thank you both for your suggestions.
