Does Pages for iPad support continuous section breaks?

I just want to make sure I’m not overlooking or misunderstanding something about Pages for iPad. I’m accustomed to working with Microsoft Word, and I know that Pages doesn’t pretend to compete with Word on features. Even so, I’m trying to learn how to use Pages for personal projects.

I’m working on a document that needs what Word calls a continuous section break. That is, I might insert a section at, say, the end of the second paragraph on page 3. Then I would add some stuff after that section break and format it with different margins, fonts, or other properties. At the end of that new section—but still on page 3—I’d insert another continuous section break, and everything that follows would adopt the same formatting at the first section.

It appears that I can’t do that in Pages. Whenever I insert a section break, Pages adds a new page. I don’t see anything in the Pages User Guide that suggests anything like a continuous section break, as I described above. Is that about right, or is there more to Pages than I’m seeing?
