Unable to connect my MacBook Air to my HP LaserJet MFP m29w Printer

I have just bought a new Macbook Air OS 14.5 but it won't connect to my HP Laserjet MFP M29w printer. (My old Mac is still printing perfectly well.) I have checked System Preferences and everything seems to be connected. Is the printer incompatible with the new laptop?

Additional printer drivers are not needed when using AirPrint.

If there is a problem with AirPrint discovery, try a full power-cycle sequence:

Power off the Wi-Fi router, the printer, the Mac(s), and all other computers and devices. Wait two to three minutes. Power on the router. Wait two to three minutes. Power on the printer. Wait a minute or two. Power on the Mac(s). Finally, power on all other computers and devices.

The printer manufacturer may recommend the use of a special app (HP Smart) for setup, ink management, and similar purposes.

Also, check whether the printer firmware has been updated to the latest version.

On the discussion of AirPrint printer support, the printer can be wired or wireless, but no other cables (e.g. USB) must be connected. The Add printer panel will attempt to locate your printer using Apple's BonJour services. You will need to click that discovered Printers Bonjour entry to activate the Usage selector which will automatically configure the printer for AirPrint. Then click Add. Here is an animation showing this process for my AirPrint connected Samsung laser printer:
