Why does my iPhone keep saying call failed after updating to latest iOS?

I had an iPhone 14 on the latest iOS. It kept saying call failed when I would try to make a call. People were getting sent straight to voicemail. The texts to non Apple users were not delivered. Silence unknown callers was off, people are not blocked and sms is on. I couldn’t figure it out. I ended up upgrading to an iPhone 15 two weeks ago. I am having the same issues. It happened in more than one location and network on the 14 as well as the 15. Any suggestions?

Report the issue to your phone carrier, those are their features.

Just to say brittny0289, it may not be your phone carrier.

Check if there is dust inside the SIM card slot, if you have a physical SIM card. This might be the answer if it says that your iPhone cannot detect a SIM card. It will say ‘No SIM’ on the left of your notch (iPhone X - iPhone 14) or Dynamic Island (iPhone 14 Pro - latest iPhone). I would recommend doing it anyway, even if it doesn’t say it.

Otherwise, try restarting your iPhone. This happened to me a few months ago and I restarted my iPhone and it was fixed. Press and hold the side button, and then immediately press and hold the volume up button until you see the menu. You will see a slider at the top labelled ‘Slide To Power Off’. Slide that to the right, and count a minute. Then, hold the side button until you see the Apple logo. Try sending a test message to a non-apple user and see if it delivers.

If nothing works, try doing what razmee209 said; talking to mobile provider. I also recommend talking to Apple Support. Maybe use message, for your iPhone doesn’t want to use your mobile service.

Hope I could help 👍🏻
