Not able to transfer any PDF files to iPad...

This just strated 10 minutes ago...i tried to drag and drop PDFs into On My Device>Books and was met with an O with a line through it icon...

This is how i have added PDFs to the Books before and now it just doesn't work...

any help would be appreciated,
