How to fix Battery draining issue on my new iPad ?

I love the look of my iPad Pro M4 13 inch. But I am very disappointed for the battery draining issue. it’s getting very hot and battery draining so fast. In one hour it’s drain 13% battery. I just bought the most expensive iPad and is getting hot and so much battery draining issue. I already forced restarted it and already reset the iPad but no solution. I am using this iPad like three days what should I do now. Before this iPad I using iPad Pro 2022 M2 processor 6th gen , but my old model iPad is better than that. Please let me know what should I do now.

You might reasonably anticipate your iPad draining the battery at about 10% per hour when being actively used - perhaps more when performing CPU/GPU intensive tasks, or with high screen brightness.

In initial battery utilisation may be higher than normal for the first few days, in particular if you have transferred data from another device, or restored data from a backup. Your iPad will be busy synchronising data and performing background tasks.

As for heating, it is entirely normal for an iPad to become warm when being used - in particular if using a fitted case. While the iPad can become very warm, it shouldn't become uncomfortably hot to hold.

If you are concerned, the first step is to perform a forced-restart of your iPad - as this will often clear an isolated software issue:

Force restart iPad (models with Face ID or with Touch ID in the top button)

If your iPad doesn’t have the Home button, do the following:

  1. Press and quickly release the volume button nearest to the top button.
  2. Press and quickly release the volume button farthest from the top button.
  3. Press and hold the top button.
  4. When the Apple logo appears, release the top button.

Force restart iPad (models with the Home button)

Press and hold the top button and the Home button at the same time. When the Apple logo appears, release both buttons.

If the problem persists after performing the restart, it may be necessary to reset your iPad settings. While this reset will not cause any loss of data, as a precaution, it is always wise to ensure that you have a current iCloud or iTunes backup before performing the reset:

When you are happy to proceed, you can perform the reset from iPad settings:

Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPad > Reset > Reset All Settings

If the problem still doesn’t clear, the next step is to reset the iPad to factory settings:

Otherwise, you would be best advised to seek assistance directly from Apple Support. You can contact the Support Team using the Support link at top-right or bottom-left of this page. Alternatively and perhaps easier, you can initiate and manage your support cases using the excellent Apple Support App. If not already installed on your iPad, the App can be downloaded from the App Store:

You might also visit the Genius Bar at your local Apple Store or Apple Authorised Service Provider (AASP) - where the technicians will be able to test and assess your iPad - and you can explore your available options:

Genius Bar Reservation and Apple Support Options - Apple

Be aware that if your new iPad was purchased directly from Apple, in most countries you have 14-days within which you may unconditionally return an undamaged device for exchange or refund. If applicable to you and you remain concerned for the health of your new iPad, you would be well advised to take advantage of the opportunity to exchange the iPad while you still do so.
