Brand new MacBook Air M1 came with dead battery?

I just bought MacBook Air m1 from online platform and got it yesterday but it came with no battery when I opened it, I had to put it to charge, is it normal? cuz other people are automatically running. I'm worried. But after tried to check the battery and have been used for a day. It's still normal.

This can be normal, the MacBook Air M1 is quite old (released in 2020) so it could be that it was sitting on the shelve for quite some time and therefore the battery drained. Just charge it and don't worry

Actually, if the battery has been left completely drained for a while, then most likely the battery has been permanently damaged. Even if the battery will start to charge, there is a very good chance the battery will start to swell which can deform the bottom case & damage the Trackpad.

I would recommend returning the laptop for a full refund since the seller did not sell the OP a properly working laptop as advertised and the health of the battery has probably been compromised.....there is no easy way to confirm the battery health (battery condition & diagnostics will not always show a bad battery). Replacing the battery would cost at least $160 US for a 2022 or older MBAir. You can see the Apple prices here:
