Can I transfer an app no longer in the app store from my old iPad to a new iPad

I suspect this is a long shot but I wanted to be sure...

I'm transferring everything from my old iPad to a new one and a couple of the apps on the old iPad are no longer in the app store. Simply put is there a way to transfer these apps (no longer in the app store) from the my old iPad to the new one?

(Perhaps using a backup of the old iPad on the MacBook?)

Thanks

No. The ability to transfer applications from an iOS device was removed in iOS 9.0 and iTunes 12.7; backups don't contain them.
