macbook air brightness keeps going down when i close the lid

every time i close the lid of my macbook air the brightness goes down even when i have auto brightness off. how do i stop this from happening. anyone know how to prevent this

Auto-brightness stops working after waking from sleep The auto-brightness feature on my MacBook Air m1 works as intended on normal usage but when I leave it overnight and open it up the next morning, the screen brightness doesn't adjust to the ambient light and stays where it was the other night. The only solution I found is to reboot the system completely. This is not something new that I noticed, it's been like this since I bought it 3 months ago. Sometimes the screen is so dim that I can't see anything on the screen, especially when I'm outdoors. Is there a way to fix this without me having to reboot everytime I woke it from sleep?

Turn off auto brightness and restart the Mac, and check if auto brightness is still off. Try and see if the issue persists after this

Also make sure to have energy saving mode off
