Hitting Apple TV Menu Button causes Samsung TV to lose connection to source

When I hit the menu button on the Apple TV remote, my Samsung TV loses its HDMI connection to the Apple TV source. The issue arose out of nowhere having made no changes to a working setup.

TV responds with HDMI 3 No Signal.

I’m able to reconnect to the Apple TV via the Samsung remote but every time I hit “menu” it disconnects.

Tried (1) ensuring only the Apple TV “saw” the signal from the Apple TV remote, (2) connecting the Apple TV to a different HDMI input, (3) updating Apple TVs firmware but same result.

A/V receiver is essentially new. NAD t758 v3.

Help please!

The Siri Remote is bluetooth paired to the Apple TV box, and shouldn’t be sending any signal to the TV, using the Menu (Back) or TV/Home button. Very weird. Only the Volume Up/Volume Down/Mute functions can send a signal to the TV or audio system directly.
