What I meant to say before the post timed out…
No. Only the first page will appear. However…
In Catalina and later, one can open a multipage PDF in Preview, then drag and drop the preferred thumbnail onto an open Pages document. That avoids the first page displayed problem from a dropped multipage PDF.
Because of your profile, I tested this with Catalina 10.15.7 and Pages v11.1. It will work with subsequent versions of macOS and Pages without requiring programmatic intervention.
No. Only the first page will appear.
Both the old solved and helped were axed in Dec 2023. It is the up-arrow now for helped and solved and the down-arrow for unhelpful. The up-arrow is not restricted to a single click to add points.
If you are working with a secured document, you may have headwinds attempting to copy (including thumbnails) or annotate it.
That's very useful to know. Thank you very much.
It isn't working for me, but I suspect this is because it's a secured document.
I hoped to work around it being 'secure' by importing it to Pages and exporting it. Alas, it's not to be.
I was only wanting to apply some highlighting to a bank statement. I do have other options, but I lose the ability for text to be recognised as text when I do this.
Great information going forward, though. I often put multi-page PDFs into Pages, but I have to extract the pages as single-page PDFs using Acrobat, which isn't as straightforward as your Preview method.
Thanks once again.
Looks like I've been away too-long.
I don't see a way to mark this as solved??? 🥲
And... All the replies are out of order.
I assume you mean it's not restricted to one click for multiple people. If I click it a second time, it appears to remove it.
I'll convert it to an image and work with that. My highlighting won't be as tidy, but it is what it is, I guess.
