"Logic Pro X found 8 audio files in 8 bit format. / This format is unsupported and cannot be played back."

I make music as well and I came back to my laptop from the the night before to listen to what I had made a few days prior and this message popped up. Like Mr. Rainburst, a majority of my audio files were nonexistent. I saved the project, hit cltrl+W to close and two finger tapped (on the Logic icon) to get the options menu to force quit. After I reopened it everything was fine! I hope this was able to help someone.
